My son love this train. It goes well with our current setup with Brio and Imaginarium track pieces/trains. We've ordered KidCraft items before and they are pretty good quality and seem to hold up well. The only reason I gave this 4 stars vs. 5 is because some of the pieces don't feel as sturdy to me as the competitor brands. Nonetheless, it's a great track and really fun.
Really awesome train set for the price! The wood quality is good, just as good as Thomas tracks and Melissa & Doug. There's plenty of action going on - helicopter pad, bridge, boat, mountain top, construction crane, etc. The instructions for putting it together are simple and easy, the pieces were all there. My 2 year old loves this set and really enjoys taking it apart and putting it back together.

I expected better from KidKraft... This set is of very poor quality. The "boat" has glue showing, the plastic bridge frame is so weak and flimsy I almost broke it snapping the plastic pegs together, the wheels on the vehicles are awful and wobbly, and the crane is so top heavy it falls over without some blocks stacked up next to it. If not for the fact that my son is thrilled over the adjustable risers I would return it. So basically I paid nearly $50 for extra tracks and risers. He's refusing to use the train because it wobbles and his other ones don't. Not a great set, especially for a child with special needs such as autism that doesn't like things to be very different.
Update 12/26/17:
The tracks have started to crack and chip now. They've barely been used. Also, the screws fall out of the risers so I had to super glue them. Extremely disappointed with this purchase. Would give 0 stars if possible.
He loves it & his siblings too. I Hate the mountain & suspension pieces. The pieces to hold the tracks in air spread apart over time. The tracks and mountain have to be perfect for the train to move under the mountain; which is really irritating. We only had it a few months before it all started to loosen. 😡 But he doesn't see flaws, he still tries to make it work.
great little train set. Some of the track pieces are hard to piece together. Great extra pieces to make for good creative play. Good quality and compatible with some other train sets we already have.
This was an OK but not great set. It's pretty difficult to put together and there's no way my son would have been able to do it. I wish it was more versatile, being able to make multiple tracks but it pretty much goes together one way and that's it. Also the trains that come with it was really cheap. Overall it's still a good set but could be improved upon.
